Eva van den Broek is a Rotterdam-based artist, originally from Zeeland. Her practice explores the relationship between landscape, memory, and storytelling, with a particular interest in Zeeland's mythology, its stories of water, lost land, vanished places and mythological creatures.

Through painting and other media, she investigates how historical events and local legends transform over time, shifting between fact, memory, and myth. Old photographs, newspaper archives, landscapes, and fragments of stories become starting points for her work, alongside the strange and imaginative creatures that inhabit Zeeland’s folklore.

She experiments with different mediums and materials, from painting and drawing to printmaking and sculpture , searching for different ways to give shape to these stories, characters, and layers of memory.
